Day One. San Francisco to South Lake Tahoe, California. 189 miles.

Spent most of the day packing and getting the bike organized and didn't leave til 7pm.

Daylight all the way to Sacramento. Then it was night driving through the Sierra to Lake Tahoe. Saw a deer standing by the side of the road as we passed 4.000 ft, then more deer later on. That freaked me out. Stayed close to a truck most of the way after that until we got up and over Echo Summit.

Tired and no photos, other than the cover of the motel directions! Might grab some food but want to get to bed early. Need to get going early tomorrow. It's gonna be 105F going through a very remote part of Nevada. Want to get to Great Basin NP well before dark so we're not dealing with anymore "deer misses."

Over and out.
